El exmandatario nacional y actual candidato al Congreso, Martín Vizcarra, llegó a Cusco a fin de realizar un recorrido proselitista junto a Daniel Salaverry, candidato de Somos Perú a la Presidencia de la República.
Mencionó que ellos habían empezado la gestión para la compra de estas vacunas todavía el 15 de abril pasado, un mes después de declararse el estado de emergencia por la pandemia del COVID-19 y que él personalmente se había comunicado con el presidente de China para pedirle que tenga en consideración a Perú para la pronta entrega de las dosis.
Sobre la vacuna de Sinopharm se supo que puede mantenerse a una temperatura de entre dos a ocho grados sobre cero, y que pueden permanecer incorruptibles, incluso, en cualquier refrigeradora común.
Antes de cerrar trato con esta empresa china, en Perú se habrían registrado hasta 12 mil pruebas de ensayo de la vacuna en ciudadanos locales, esto a fin de conocer el comportamiento de esta dosis en las condiciones a nivel local.
Para culminar el tema, Martín Vizcarra aceptó que la vacuna demoró en llegar a Perú, pero echó la culpa a todos los que propiciaron su salida de Palacio de Gobierno, calificándolos de irresponsables, por haberlo sacado en medio de una pandemia.
