Generales de la Policía Nacional que fueron pasados al retiro por renovación de cuadros por el presidente Francisco Sagasti interpusieron acciones de amparo ante el Poder Judicial en un intento por retornar a la institución policial. En todos los casos, argumentan que fueron dados de baja vulnerando las normas.
No obstante que el mandatario Sagasti aseguró el último fin de semana que no habrá “marcha atrás” en su decisión de dar de baja a tres tenientes generales y 17 generales de la PNP, varios de los afectados por la drástica medida han comenzado a recurrir a la administración de justicia con el propósito de anular las resoluciones ministeriales que dieron término a sus funciones como integrantes del Alto Mando de la Policía Nacional.
Sagasti reconoció que en el pase al retiro “pagaron justos por pecadores”, en el sentido de que en el propósito de relevar a generales implicados en las investigaciones por las compras policiales ilícitas y la muerte de los estudiantes Inti Sotelo y Bryan Pintado, tuvieron que salir otros que nada tenían que ver con ambos casos. Por eso, cuando designó como comandante general de la PNP a César Cervantes Cárdenas, y lo tuvo que ascender del grado de general a teniente general, todos los que lo antecedían en el escalafón pasaron al retiro, como indica la ley. Sin embargo, para los generales que por esta decisión tuvieron que salir de la institución, la fórmula del presidente Sagasti no está acorde con las leyes.
