Las autoridades sanitarias de China han hallado coronavirus en diversos lotes de repuestos para automóviles fabricados por una subsidiaria local de la compañía alemana Daimler.
Según la cadena de televisión pública CGTN, se detectó un primer caso de coronavirus el pasado 26 de diciembre en la fábrica, por lo que las autoridades de Pekín decidieron suspender la producción y aislar el área industrial. Los reguladores locales afirman que la subsidiaria de Daimler, que puso bajo cuarentena a los trabajadores, no cumplió de manera estricta con las normativas anti-covid.
Hasta el momento se han confirmado un total de once contagios de covid-19 en el seno de la citada firma. Debido al frío, el agente infeccioso sobrevivió en esos objetos durante su traslado a otras zonas de China, donde varios lotes procedentes de la fábrica de Daimler han dado positivo en los últimos días en zonas como Mongolia Interior y Shanxi (norte) o Shandong (este).
