Solo en Lima entre 250 y 300 pacientes se encuentran a la espera de una cama UCI en los hospitales en medio de la segunda ola de COVID-19.
Jesús Valverde, presidente de la Sociedad Peruana de Medicina Intensiva, señaló que a nivel nacional esta cifra se incrementaría a 500 por día.
Añadió que se necesitan por lo menos 3200 camas y reveló que existe un déficit de alrededor de 600 en este momento. El médico cuestionó que entre octubre y noviembre se haya despedido a una gran cantidad de galenos que hoy se necesitan con urgencia.
Afirmó que, a diferencia de la primera etapa de contagios de coronavirus, en esta segunda ola los que llegan a UCI son jóvenes y familias completas.
