El ex boxeador peruano Carlos Burga, quien, fue campeón latinoamericano y representó al Perú en los Juegos Olímpicos de Múnich 1972, falleció de covid-19 enlutando al deporte de los puños.
«El IPD lamenta el sensible fallecimiento del ex boxeador peruano Carlos Burga, campeón latinoamericano y representante nacional en las olimpiadas de Múnich 72. Nuestras condolencias a todos sus familiares y amigos», publicó el Instituto Peruano del Deporte.
Por su parte, la Federación Deportivo Peruana de Boxeo, indicó: «Una rosa blanca por cada ángel que vuelve al cielo,… Y por cada persona que en el mundo llora la perdida de un ser amado. Mucha tristeza por la partida del profesor Carlos Burga; que Dios lo ampare en la gloria y brille en él la luz perpetua».
