Italia registró 14.761 nuevos contagios de coronavirus y 342 muertos en las últimas veinticuatro horas, tres días antes de emprender un proceso de reapertura en las regiones con menor riesgo epidemiológico en sectores como la cultura, la restauración y la educación.
El aumento de las nuevas infecciones es menor que el registrado el jueves, cuando se superaban los 16.000 positivos, y eleva a 3.935.703 la cifra de contagiados desde que se desató la pandemia en Italia, en febrero de 2020.
El balance provisional de víctimas mortales es de 118.699 en lo que va de emergencia sanitaria.
En los hospitales sigue reduciéndose la presión. De las 465.543 personas que actualmente resultan infectadas con el
Sars-CoV-2, la gran mayoría está aislada en sus casas con síntomas leves o sin ellos.
Los ingresados en planta son 21.440, lo que marca una disminución de 654 pacientes respecto de la víspera, mientras que son 2.979 los que requieren cuidados intensivos, 42 menos que el día anterior y por primera vez en un mes por debajo de la cifra de tres mil.
La situación sigue siendo «complicada» porque la incidencia del virus es «alta», lo que obliga a emprender la reducción de las limitaciones con cautela y gradualmente, defendió hoy el presidente del Instituto Superior de Sanidad, Silvio Brusaferro.
En cuanto a la campaña de vacunación, en Italia se han inyectado 16.829.814 dosis, sobre todo entre mayores de 70 años y personal sanitario, y 4.963.281 personas ya están inmunizadas, con la pauta completa.
