Debido al aumento de contagios del COVID-19, el gobernador regional del Callao, Dante Mandriotti, pidió considerar el cierre de estas en el primer puerto hasta que las condiciones sanitarias lo permitan.
“En octubre pasado, junto a los alcaldes del litoral chalaco, pedimos el cierre de las playas porque generaría nuevos focos de contagio del COVID-19, pero se abrieron con restricciones (de lunes a jueves). Hoy su uso es restringido hasta el 31 de enero. Sin embargo, controlar el ingreso de más de miles de personas es inviable porque los municipios no cuentan con los recursos necesarios”, expresó.
En ese sentido, se mostró de acuerdo con el pedido hecho por 5 alcaldes de Lima y Callao para que la restricción del uso de playas, la cual está vigente hasta el 31 de enero, se extienda hasta después de Semana Santa.
La primera autoridad regional precisó que en la Región Callao, La Punta, Ventanilla y la provincia constitucional del Callao son los lugares en cuyas jurisdicciones se encuentran el mayor número de playas.
