El Seguro Social de Salud advirtió que adultos entre 45 y 55 años están ingresando de emergencia para ser intubados en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos por complicaciones respiratorias a causa de la COVID-19.
Así lo informó el doctor José Miguel Espinoza, médico asistente de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Nacional Alberto Sabogal, quien señaló que, debido al incumplimiento de las medidas de bioseguridad, el promedio de edad de ingreso de pacientes graves con coronavirus se ha reducido alarmantemente.
Recordó que, en la primera ola de contagios, los pacientes intubados con soporte ventilatorio eran en su gran mayoría, adultos mayores entre 65 y 70 años.
Sin embargo, esta situación ha variado en los últimos días y se han registrado varios ingresos de jóvenes con graves complicaciones respiratorias. Detalló que incluso el último domingo ingresó a UCI una paciente con complicaciones respiratorias de sólo 23 años.
