La vacuna contra el coronavirus desarrollada por Pfizer, conserva su eficacia contra las variantes británica y sudafricana, por lo que representantes de ambas empresas afirmaron que es innecesario desarrollar un fármaco específico para estas.
Así lo hicieron saber por medio de un comunicado publicado hoy, 28 de enero, en donde se indica que siguen realizando monitoreos en caso alguna de las variantes se vuelva resistente al antídoto.
El medicamento desarrollado fue sometido a tests in vitro con el virus original y las mutaciones anteriormente mencionadas, y se obtuvieron resultados positivos. Tras ello, los laboratorios no han dudado en señalar que las pruebas “no demostraron la necesidad de una nueva vacuna”.
